Berko Pharmaceuticals Passed the "Empathy Parkour" Exam

Berko Pharmaceuticals, which frequently takes part in social awareness projects and aims to develop awareness in the society in its own projects, participated in the "Empathy  Parkour" project of the Spinal Cord Paralytics Association of Turkey (TOFD) and drew attention to the issues of understanding the difficulties experienced by individuals using wheelchairs and developing social empathy.

Berko Pharmaceuticals employees both experienced emotional moments and drew attention to the obstacles for a more conscious society with TOFD's "Empathy  Parkour" project. Aiming to raise awareness for the fundamental rights and freedoms of disabled individuals, Berko Pharmaceuticals employees experienced the problems experienced by disabled individuals by using the wheelchairs of the association on a special parkour with obstacles similar to those in daily life.

At the event organised in cooperation with TOFD under the leadership of Berko Pharmaceuticals Board Member and Corporate Communications Director Eylem Beran said, "I had the chance to experience what it means for wheelchair users to face many difficulties every day thanks to this project I participated in. As a member of the society, we will work to minimise these difficulties at every opportunity by empathising more for individuals using wheelchairs. As Berko Pharmaceuticals employees, when we see an area that is not suitable for disabled people in a public place, we will do our part to remove obstacles and facilitate living spaces by uploading images to the "Buradaengellendim" website. Being here today has both touched us all and made us more aware of this issue. I would like to thank the Spinal Cord Paralytics Association of Turkey for creating such a wonderful awareness environment."

“Empathy Parkour” is a project carried out by the Spinal Cord Paralytics Association of Turkey (TOFD) to help understand the difficulties experienced in daily life by individuals who use wheelchairs due to spinal cord paralysis and health problems. On a special parkour created at the TOFD Headquarters, participants experience the obstacles similar to those experienced by disabled people in daily life, thus providing empathy and awareness. The project draws attention to the fact that in daily life, people with disabilities are prevented for many reasons such as occupying parking spots, steps and slopes not being suitable for people with disabilities, and sometimes they do not want to leave their homes due to these reasons.
