Diyarbakır Deputy Governor Fatih Cıdıroğlu, Diyarbakır MP Oya Eronat, Provincial Director of National Education Yüksel Arslan, District Director of National Education Aydın Ak, Kayapınar District Governor Ünal Koç and guests attended the opening ceremony held on 6 September, the first day of the 2021-2022 academic year.
Provincial Director of National Education Yüksel Arslan made the opening speech at the ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by the speeches of Diyarbakır Deputy Governor Fatih Cıdıroğlu, Berko Pharmaceuticals Vice Chairman of the Board Muazzez Beran and Berko Pharmaceuticals Chairman of the Board Pharm. Berat Beran. After the ribbon cutting, the guests visited the school, chatted with the students and wished them success in the new academic year. At the 16-classroom Muazzez Beran Secondary School, registration for the first term started and students were admitted.
Muazzez Beran, who gave great importance to education and supporting students throughout her life because she was not sent to school because she was a girl after completing her primary education, said: "I had the opportunity to fulfil my 40-year dream, I wish everyone to be able to do the good deed of their hearts. I hope that many generations beneficial to our country and the world will grow up in our school." Pharm Berat Beran, Chairman of the Board Berko Pharmaceuticals, said: "In the past, they used to say that girls do not go to school. This thought had wounded my wife Muazzez Beran and her biggest dream was to build a school in our country. Today, we are proud of the realisation of this dream."
